The History of our country

Updated: Oct 18, 2021

The history of our country was founded on separation and division, through slavery, racism, classism, police brutality, segregation, social injustice, income inequality, just to name a few.

In an already divided society we cannot afford to be at odds with one another. Now is not the time, nor has it ever been. It is time to make a drastic and significant change in this moment, to simply be united as one. But it must start with each and everyone of us. So when we see and experience injustice inflicted on our black and brown communities, it is important for all of us to take action, and stand up for what we know is right. In my opinion, It is unacceptable to sit back and watch idly by and do nothing.

Now also In my opinion, I believe some people feel they are exempt from helping to ensure this change happens. They think they are the most important people in the world, and no one else matters. And if they do help out, It feels as if we are expected to continuously applaud them for their efforts.

Take the 1% of the country for just one example. Who come from all different walks of life. Who I believe, some of them often forget that everyone else exist, and it’s their “way or the highway.” When in fact 99% of us help to “make the world go around.” Please take some time to look up distribution of wealth for accurate statistics.

Now again, I think it’s possible to live in a unified society but drastic changes and measures must be made. The focus must be centered on eliminating racism, working toward equal distribution of wealth and equality, strengthening our educational system, working on police reform, and the list goes on.

We as a people cannot continue to sow division on any level. One example of this is how we cater to the rich and wealthy, while the poor suffer inequality and injustice at an alarming pace.

Now God forbid if the 1% of the population had to stand in the welfare line. In my opinion that would be a sight to see. There would definitely be some humbling going on. Again, look up distribution of wealth for accurate statistics.

However, wealth must be experienced by all who wish to obtain it, and certainly not by jumping through a million hops to get it, or by who you know, but by what is fair and good.

In addition, lets take a step forward and a step back for just a moment to police brutality. We seem to have shifted our focus from the Coronavirus to bad policing, as if we have forgotten that bad police have been in existence for forever. And namely for the purpose of controlling black and brown people for something we did not cause or create in the first place.

Therefore, we as a people must find positive solutions to combat and eliminate systematic racism, along with the many other injustices I mentioned earlier. And at the same time, remember, and have faith, that there are still some good people in the world, who do work to protect and serve with a badge of honor.
